Villa Iskar Lake is a sunny boutique villa located on the shores of the Iskar Reservoir, near the Shtarkelovo Gnezdo (Stork’s Nest) complex. It is situated about a 40-minute drive from Sofia. The century-old pine trees and the sound of the reservoir’s waves create a uniquely tranquil atmosphere. The reservoir itself is exceptionally picturesque, offering excellent conditions for fishing and water sports. For enthusiasts of hiking, cycling, and off-road tourism, numerous trails and routes are also available. The villa offers not only peace and quiet but a true home-away-from-home feeling. With its beautiful and distinctive character, Villa Iskar Lake is perfect for small groups and families with children.

The villa was fully renovated in 2024. Its interior and exterior harmoniously blend natural and contemporary elements, reflecting a typical mountain style crafted entirely from wood and stone. Here you will find a cozy atmosphere with all the conveniences of modern life, while the incredible views of the Iskar Reservoir will take your breath away.

The villa is a solidly-built, three-story house with a maximum accommodation capacity of up to 12 guests. It offers comfortable double rooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom.

The ground floor features a spacious dining room with a fireplace, as well as a large, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare and serve meals—a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee machine, and an electric kettle. The dining room opens onto a large covered terrace with a table for 12, offering incredible views of the garden and the reservoir.

Adjacent to the terrace, you will find a barbecue suitable for wood or charcoal grilling—perfect for grilling enthusiasts—as well as a traditional oven for slow cooking. For an even more pleasant experience, to the side of the villa, there is a veranda with a year-round jacuzzi, a sauna, and a relaxation area complete with wooden sun loungers.

The first floor features a large living room with a sofa bed and a professional pool table, as well as one double bedroom with a balcony overlooking the reservoir. The second floor has three additional double rooms: two furnished with double beds, and a third with two twin beds and a balcony.

The villa provides on-site parking for 4 cars, as well as fishing rods, swings, and a hammock for guest use.

The large, terraced garden includes a private beach area, a fishing pier, and a spacious lawn perfect for games, picnics, and outdoor activities. The villa also comes with a kayak, a stand-up paddleboard (SUP), and an inflatable boat, all of which are available for guests to use free of charge.

For your peace of mind, Iskar Lake Residence is equipped with its own power generator in case of electricity outages, as well as a private water source from a deep-water well.

For the added comfort of our guests, we can offer a delicious homemade breakfast. All the products we use are organic and homemade, sourced from small local farms and producers. This includes artisanal dairy, white and yellow cheeses, cured meats, butter, jams, mountain herbal tea, and homemade syrups and liqueurs.

There are small grocery shops near the house where you can find all the essentials you might need for your stay.

Upon request, we can also organize excursions to nearby attractions such as the Tsarska Bistritsa Royal Palace, the Seven Rila Lakes, Musala Peak, and the Chernata Skala (Black Rock) area. These trips can be arranged with or without a professional mountain guide.

Shishmanovo Monastery “Dormition of the Theotokos”

Located about 6 km from the Iskar Reservoir, this monastery offers tranquility and an opportunity for spiritual enrichment. It is situated on the Septemvriyski Ridge, 13 km from the town of Samokov, and near the Iskar Reservoir, which can be seen from the hills above the monastery. Its name is linked to the former village of Shishmanovo, which was previously known as Chamurlii.
